From Mr. Godo’s remarks at yesterday’s meeting of the National Council
If we look at that different situation in political life in the time of transition to the political era, that is how he expressed himself yesterday in the National Council of the Democratic Party, when they spoke about the election of the leadership and the closing of its branches. And after that he added that there must be pressure, because it constitutes the true leaders of the party that will work to help with the other changes. In fact, it must be emphasized that this circulation is also a concern in the aspect of events, that it does not end in movement. The lack of this circulation also had a major origin in the proper orientations and both in the general plan and in the multinational one. The June elections in Albania have given a marked answer to this theme as well, including in its context beyond the Republic of Albania. In this framework, President Berisha, in one of the last debates of the National Council of the DP, stressing the need for replacing many old and new weights, emphasized that another spirit must be created, one that responds to the aims of the entire democratic process. At the center of these views was also the platform and direction of the Democratic Party, with the emphasis that there must be great readiness at all levels for the creation of a pluralist democracy. This fact was raised in the relations of the Albanian Democratic Party with its leaders, but also with names that are generally on the road to the victory of democracy. In order for all these necessities to be realized, a close system as well as full transparency must be followed. One of these things is providing a clear guiding light for the political future and for the first words from the democratic government. From the completion of this process, a declaration and a platform have been made. Another means would also be the division of forces and responsibilities, as well as taking on a broad and open responsibility toward the Albanian people. One of the greatest tasks remains educating citizens in public life, because there is still much to be done for democracy. And this is done in an open, inclusive form. But, as Mr. Godo said, pluralist democracy is a great good, because it needs all the citizens of the country, all its participants. This has to do with coordinating work with parties and other interest groups. It must also have a clear path toward European integration.
