The morning in Serbia is delayed amid the vigorous recovery and by Milosević’s fund. Several hundred Albanians from Kosovo who have found shelter in Albania are worried about their fate, since student scholarships from the Albanian government have been given only to some opposition deputies. Meanwhile, Serbian media are loudly reporting a decision to stop all aid for Kosovo refugees. The Albanian opposition has now reacted to the new situation. Its leader, Bashkim Driza, said that this decision was taken to clarify doubts arising from the latest facts. But the time of Berisha’s election, together with the continuing objections of some senior officials, has made it clear that Albania’s relations with Kosovo could be shaken. In this problematic storm, the situation has turned into a new political battle. At a press conference, the Albanian president stated that Albania will continue to help Kosovo, although politics is different. Against this backdrop, the Serbian government and its structures have continued daily with measures against Albanians. Serbian newspapers are carrying many reports about banning contacts with Albanians and restricting their rights in Kosovo. At the same time, the Albanian opposition and Kosovo leaders have insisted on a political, not military, solution. These developments, on the one hand, have brought Kosovo and the role of Albanian and Serbian politics to the center of attention, while on the other hand they have opened debates about organizations, aid and funds for Albanian citizens in Albania and in the diaspora.
