The Right-Wing Card

The PD should not be allowed to play in the name of the Right By his very nature, Berisha—President, Chairman and Government—is above all a party leader. By his very nature Berisha—President, Chairman and Government—is above all a party leader. A man accustomed to such political cards, feverish about the Right, yet still exploiting it in his own way. He has found many ways to use the Right-wing card. Thus today, with the Right-wing card, it is not the first time that he has tried to justify his actions. When the chairman of the Democratic Party, Mr. Meksi, greeted the crowd during an eight-hour, more than once gloomy, appearance, it became clear that he neither understood seriousness nor the structures of the Right. But what does a political day mean when he is in a dominant position, and behind him there are still 30 remaining associations, while the entire Albanian society of law will stand? In the name of the Right, is that PD and the policy of removals and exclusions bringing back the oppressed state again? Multi-party Albania has a clear sense of what for? For the rule of law, for a state serving citizens’ lives, for institutions, but also for their lasting trust. These values, throughout history, have never been given by Berisha, but he has always seen them as instruments for taking power. Berisha, as President and Government Chairman, has never agreed to implement them. He has sought to use institutions, the leaders, to remain alone. He has built them as instruments to stay in power, not as means to meet citizens’ needs. This has been his clearest trait. This has become even more evident in his actions in the Berisha case, using them to escape his responsibilities. Yes, even the punishment of the opposition, turning politics into an instrument of his war against them. That party, taken over by him, has never been a true party of freedoms and rights. It has used democracy as a means to grant itself only a kind of monopoly over life. As Albania has shown, it cannot have a normal future without a state in which citizens’ rights and freedoms are guaranteed by institutions and not by the cards of people in power. Berisha was the one who built these institutions, and he has often used them for his own power. These are the new democratic structures and cannot be seen merely as instruments of a party or a single man. And as long as PD considers itself the sole representative of the Right, it makes any normal political life in the country impossible. Therefore, this right-wing card is a worn-out card, which can no longer be returned to their hands. Since it was used as a political weapon, it has damaged pluralism and increased division in society. That is what is happening today in Albanian politics. It cannot be based on names and personalities, but on rules and institutions. That is the only way out of the deep crisis that has engulfed the country.

The Montenegrin swindler set the trap

It has aroused attention and drawn attention that the Italian adventures for 60 young Albanians from Qemeni, undertaken in order to change the whole of Albanian life, may have fallen into the trap of a petty scheme, or to lose it, as the old song says “A fërf...”
