The attack against Berisha—crime or Reichstag?
Albanian television showed a “Van der Lybe” grinning before the camera as he described his own act.
The Democratic Party has placed the attack against Presi- President Berisha at the center of its election propaganda. Apparently, the party in power has finally become convinced that it no longer has any logical argument with which to justify itself before the people. Slogans repeated at every campaign cannot conceal the fact that the DP and its government, together with the SP, turned Albania into a slaughterhouse of people, into a huge grave in which Albanians risk being buried together. The focus on the President’s attack shows political cynicism on the part of Berisha’s party. To exploit a hideous crime means having no principles, no morals, no humanity—which also means casting doubt on the event itself. Public suspicion is growing that the Rashbull attack is an electoral “deus ex machina” for the DP. Through this act, the Democrats are playing the role of victims, of the persecuted, and consequently of beggars pleading for votes out of pity. On the other hand, citizens and politicians have become increasingly afraid of retaliatory actions against opposition parties and candidates. The Rashbull incident is the most dangerous precedent, warning of... So what is the attack against the President? Is it a crime or a the camera as he described his own act. The focus on the reasons for the unreasonable question of why the grenade did not explode was another weak point, adding to suspicions of an ordinary Albanian game with bombs... Perhaps the boha will reveal the truth. But one thing is certain: every violent act carried out not only against a President but also against a citizen; every attack made not only with bombs and bullets but also with stones and cans, is a hideous crime that must be severely condemned. The people who staged or conceived dangerous farces must also be severely punished. It is boha that we fight with words and not weapons. It is boha that we use language and not our fists.
Intellectuals set up roadblocks
The President left; another bomb went off in Durrës

The two big players serve up the monsters
The DP and the SP have not understood that they already belong to an electoral nothingness, and that the only hope of being represented in the Albanian Parliament would be to nominate new politicians, figures who are untainted by crime and have not been repeatedly... [unclear in source]. The continuation of the conservative positions of the neocommunist camp is the end of any reason to guarantee political survival.
Apparently, these forces will never want to be cured, but will choose to live with their illnesses. Moreover, coexisting with evil seems to be what still keeps them alive. Having no imagination even to envision their future, they consciously oppose tendencies to restore political ways of thinking and logic.
