Bullets over Shehu’s Tirana
Italians: ALBA in Albania until Berisha steps down! USA: Fino prime minister!
First step: Parliament must convene
After the elections, the people await elections
Hope is moving ahead! It will soon be resolved, but the solution will begin from there. Albania will have another challenge to repeat another path. But how quickly will it start moving? Nothing can be guaranteed in the future! A new, difficult road lies ahead...
Faced with the many difficulties of the transition period, the economic and social problems, the collapse of the state and public order, and the deep and widespread crisis, Albanian political leaders feel that the time has come for the situation to move toward a new path of dialogue and cooperation. As it is now clear, there is no need for confrontation; rather, it is time for everyone to think seriously about how a solution can be found to emerge from the crisis. Analyzing some of the possible directions for the situation’s development, until a solution comes, they foresee that the chances are high that a compromise will be needed, and everyone must give something in the interest of stability, a new coexistence, and peace—a different difficult path toward a new democracy. ...
In essence, the major solution must be a new agreement for the Albanian state, as has been repeatedly stated: institutions must convene, the rules of the game must be defined, and a new phase of political coexistence must begin. This means that Parliament must be the first body to meet, as the legitimate institution with a mandate to begin the process of institutional unblocking.
This approach is tied to the fact that, without a functioning parliament, any effort to restore order and public trust would remain incomplete.
In this context, the authorities and political leaders also speak about the role of the international community, including Italy, the United States, and other actors, who are expected to help find a stabilizing formula.
