The Presidency received 360 million

Xhaferi, more secrets: I sponsored Arbnori; I gave 80 million to Blerim Çela The DP: The next battle will be in the autumn. Berisha: It is my fault. The old men of the Constitutional Court are mixing up the decisions

Death has gone mad

While politics refuses to surrender the coffin of the crisis Death has bared its bloodied claws and is insatiable for human lives. Albania’s cemeteries are expanding their boundaries. Life is unprotected. Every day it awaits death’s treacherous blows. How many coffins have we escorted to cemeteries this year? Statistics say more than 2,000, not including the bodies without coffins from Otranto, and not counting the dead who have not been buried, lost who knows where (last week, the decomposed legs of a couple attacked by worms were found in the Divjakë forest). The week just ended counted more than 30 wounded. On Saturday alone, 20 innocent people were hit in Tepelenë. Saturday also marked another bloody figure: 9 dead. Yes, what is happening? Death has gone mad. It strikes everywhere, at every turn; it lurks on the road, in cafés, at home, in broad daylight, in the darkness of night. Crime has trampled morality. Even when death fails to sink its bloodied claws in, life is still unforgiving. In broad daylight they come out onto the street, fire off their entire Kalashnikov magazine, lay you out on the asphalt and, after humiliating you, take your car, abduct your sister and your wife... I believe the Albanian has fallen outside the bounds of his own morality, while politicians keep playing their tune about the morality of their immoral politics. Perhaps they are right, because many of them have not had so much as a thorn prick them, a car window broken, or their routines disrupted—their weekends at the beach or tourist trips abroad. And with utter cynicism, they keep the crisis blocked, recklessly brandishing the keys to the coffin in which the crisis is locked. After three absurd weeks of crisis caused by Parliament not convening, yesterday there was a “concession”: the meeting of Parliament was decreed. Perhaps the threatening declaration by the PS made the President come to his senses and realize that Parliament can convene even without his wish. It is quite possible that the crisis will not be resolved even after Wednesday, when the parliamentarians take their seats in the armchairs of their predecessors. The crafty politicians will surely find some other pretext to keep the keys to the crisis in their hands. Perhaps they will play games with the names of ministers or prime ministers. And the crisis will remain for a long time in the coffin into which the politicians have tightly shut it. Meanwhile, life will continue to be threatened by death... It has learned how to ambush Albanians, while politicians ambush Albanians... But as long as they keep dodging the ambush, what will the immorality of Albanian politics do?
