"A political chapter" also in the refugee issue. The two economistic segments of Albanian politics, PS and PD, although protagonists in the spiritual and economic ruin of Albanians in these years of transition, have declared a fierce propaganda war in order to extort concessions so they can guarantee their own survival. Shamelessly speculating on the pain of migrants who were recently forcibly returned from Italy, the socialist leaders, instead of admitting diplomatic impotence, tried to convince people that the refugees were being welcomed with every possible honor. Moreover, the government delivered pathetic speeches, deciding that this country should no longer produce refugees, but should instead take them on board, as it pressed ahead on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration. Berisha's camp, which took advantage of this occasion to increase the doses of anti-government mobilization, was accused by the socialists of sterile and tired demagoguery. In the absurd political contest between the two sides, the socialists seem to have pulled back. Yesterday the PS press sharply attacked the PD and the Berisha supporters, accusing them of disrupting the bandits' trafficking schemes in order to deprive the socialists of the monopoly they enjoy over them! In other words, this "political war" is nothing other than a war over illegal trafficking and smuggling monopolies. Once upon a time, the PD was the absolute owner of these monopolies. Now the PS is operating with the same fixed idea. Albanian public opinion has sensed this. So has the Socialist electorate and its circles. Yesterday, at a conference of the PS branch in Gjirokastër, a call was made to put an end to the cult of Nano. The actions of the head of government are being viewed with suspicion.
