Now that the government programme has been completely devalued and no macroeconomic stimulus prevails in the country's economic development, certain political forces are calling for new elections. Curiously, the driving force behind this idea is the Democratic Party, which declares itself highly interested in the evolution of democratic trends, in the implementation of the stabilisation policy, in strengthening institutional order, and in long-term economic and political development. It is true that today's Albanian crisis has shattered economic, political and institutional life, but the political response to the immense shocks should be based on a common model, determined a priori by politicians who seek only power. The reactions to today's shocking developments do not come as a result of political evolutions.
