Government fundamentalism

The political careers of the left-wingers are being accompanied by disillusionment with freedom and pluralism in general. It would be a futile effort to hang the responsibility for political monism solely around Marx’s neck. To provoke Albanians and even international institutions, the idea has been floated of outlawing the DP following the recent organization of protests. Such a policy implies the dismantling of democratic institutions, but paves the way for the installation of a neo-dictatorship. Democracy is an alternative, a choice of values and a commitment. If the tendencies of certain political individuals become legal norms, then justice is distorted. Continued on page 3
