There is little enthusiasm within NATO for direct military intervention in Kosovo. The Alliance is discussing the worsening situation without being able to find a definitive formula. Almost all political entities in Kosovo, including DBSH in Albania, have appealed for forceful intervention. But NATO’s official position is one of disregard, although military options have not been ruled out. At the latest meeting in Brussels, Alliance representatives decided to continue preparing military plans for every eventuality. But why is NATO hesitating to intervene quickly?
