The unification of shares is part of privatization, the head of government stressed yesterday, saying that the sale of enterprises, in addition to their recovery, gives new momentum to Albanian industry. He faces the same difficulties that have appeared in the privatization and sale of industrial assets. According to government officials, they are dealing with a strong push for a proper sales strategy, since there are serious problems with the market, low prices, buyers’ lack of financial capacity, and the division of shares. Choosing strategic partnerships, it seems, is a response that could solve the impasse. Meanwhile, in Western countries, a similar strategy is being applied to effectively overcome the problems posed by the need for foreign investment and the privatization process. Perhaps this is a good decision, but with the history of world experience over our own experience, can we manage to improve the future? Or at least not fail? All strategies are being tested, and the core problem is taking responsibility and the ability to carry out processes. But most importantly, this issue must pass through the realities of the transition period, because without a truly free market, privatization in Albania cannot really be good. Part of this strategy is also the unification of shares. On this basis, it presents a new, softer and slower formula, using agencies to close the split, as a model for share transactions. For this reason, company experts must be careful, because the value of shares cannot be divided, thus also reducing enterprise profits. If this principle is put into practice, then Albania will achieve a more successful privatization, with a better, more developed and stronger economy in hand. This is why the government’s economic team wants the process to be well organized and controlled, because only thus can the problems caused by the destruction of shares be avoided.
