Czechs uncover the Serbs’ rare secret
Where is Kosovo headed?
Maksim BEGEJA NATO’s bombings have so far produced only one consequence: the mass displacement of Albanians, burnings, looting, rapes, people slaughtered like animals, and a few buildings destroyed in Belgrade, Pristina, Novi Sad, etc. According to the International Refugee Organization, the number of Kosovars forcibly displaced is expected to exceed 900,000! What has Kosovo gained from NATO’s intervention? Milošević, besides defying the Alliance, is also putting into operation the objectives he had promised the Serbs on the anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo: a Kosovo without Kosovars. It is a fact that Milošević’s military machine has been weakened, but that is not enough. The mass expulsion of Albanians offers no positive prospects for Kosovo. Slobodan does not seem to be in much of a hurry; he has time to accomplish many of his aims. Perhaps a little further on, he will stir up Serbian laziness so that it sinks its claws into the ethnic lands of the Albanians. The showy statements of some foreign parliamentarian should not be taken as favorable to the Albanian cause, even if that person is a friend of Albania or a journalist. How can we Albanians accept such statements as, ‘Let the Kosovars leave, let Kosovo be emptied’? Milošević cannot send Serbs there, because, after all, things apparently will not take root in empty soil. Pallarva.... What a poem. These are pathetic absurdities, which may interest whoever they may interest, but cannot easily be swallowed, especially by us Albanians. The tragedy being endured by the Albanians of Kosovo indicts NATO for its lack of boldness—for its bellicose actions, for the killings and for the ... in its intervention. Graves

TESTIMONY/10 families burned in a house surrounded on all sides by Serbs
Two weeks ago, in an operation, the Serbs gathered 10 families whose members included KLA fighters and locked them in a warehouse. The warehouse was then shelled and burned down together with the people inside.
This is compounded by the massacre the Serbs carried out against a Kosovar couple, whose child died on the way to Durrës Hospital. Before they crossed into Albania, the Serbs stopped the couple from Peja, snatched their little one, who was not yet 6 days old, and then submerged the baby in cold water for several minutes.
