The Serbs attack Albania. After breaching the state border, Serbian military forces attacked the village of Padesh and surrounded Kamenicë, where they began burning houses. Kamenica is in flames, while Albanian border forces have withdrawn(!) There are activated mines every meter. The occupation of our country is no longer a taboo, as the government had thought. “We are not afraid of Serbian attacks; we are under NATO’s protection,” the interior minister declared a few days ago. The entire Albanian state speaks in this manner. It is good that they are not rushing, but not to the point of tolerating occupation. Although our government officially acknowledges that territories are occupied, it still has not woken up to confront Serbian aggression. The government is nothing but a product of a gelatinous confusion that has spiraled out of control. Our soldiers at the front withdrew from defending the homeland. This is a precedent. We do not know what authority a defense minister could demonstrate to Albanian citizens after such an event. The government team must understand that the dogmatic self-confidence of this moment must give way to acknowledging the insecurity prevailing in the country.
