Yeltsin’s secret plan for Kosovo revealed

The hypocrisy of the Serbian Church

. The Serbian Orthodox Church has called for Milošević’s resignation. This is hypocrisy, intended to pull the wool over the West’s eyes about the role played by the Church in Yugoslavia. It is well known that Milo- Milošević usurped this role, as religion and nationalism merged with one another and took on the forms of chauvinism. Milošević’s national communism was a unified doctrine, in which religion became the source of the “logical basis.” Where was the Serbian Church when innocent people were being killed and women and children massacred in Kosovo? The criminal path of Milošević and his insane efforts at “ethnic cleansing” were never denounced. Indeed, Milošević became a deified leader, while the Church became a doctrinal interpreter of his programme. This stance of the Church further moralized Serbian society and hypnotized the crowds, some of whom joined the paramilitary forces. Religion did not preach peace, but terror, cloaked in dogma. It is just as guilty as Milošević, since it was his vanguard in the war for the ethnic cleansing of Kosovo. The Serbian Orthodox Church conducted propaganda shaped by doctrines of racial hatred. It preached violence, backed by mass killings and cloaked in dogma. Just like Milošević’s regime, it made extensive use of demagoguery in its political strategy to manipulate the masses, succeeding in mobilizing a number of truly fanatical believers. And this fanaticism proved useful. Continued, page 3
