The parties are being privatized
The Republican Party, like Albanian public opinion as a whole, has long observed that the political conflict in Albania is connected with particular individuals whose aim is to usurp leadership positions and political alliances. The hypocrisy of endlessly cursing communism and the collaborators of the State Security service is merely a farce and political demagoguery. These people have privatized the political parties into satellite parties around themselves and use them for their own interests, outside every democratic norm or rule—not to mention the privatization of the parties, there is a tendency to privatize and control the thinking of their militants as well. These usurpers are not only showing that their ideas have run dry, but are sinking ever deeper into their own egocentrism.
Berisha’s spokespersons are a clear embodiment of servility, perversity and hypocrisy. They not only create no value, but destroy and discredit every value of the right in Albanian public opinion.
The negative developments in the Democratic Party have consequences for the entire opposition and the country. Turning the congress into a campaign of love and a demonstration for the chairman, sidelining people who have weight in the creation and activity of the DP and are genuinely committed to bringing a spirit of competition among ideas and alternatives into the party, and replacing them with militants or a militant spirit, is wholly incompatible with the development of a party that claims to be right-wing. Apparently, we must reach the conclusion that: “Politics is much too serious a matter to be left to politicians.”
The transfer of conflict from conflicts between parties to internal conflicts within them, accompanied by accusations of conspiracy, treason and spy rings, openly shows that politics is increasingly dominated by crooks, modern Byzantines, hypocrites and thieves. Former State Security collaborators are the most prominent figures who have seized power. Continued on page 3
