[text at the top is cut off] ...students. As the tenth year approaches, the heralds of the democratic spring are coming to bring to completion what was left unfinished in December 1990. And as they sat at the desks in the lecture halls, they looked out the window, disappointed, at the sadness of Albanian reality and the hemorrhagic exodus of their friends, caused by the absence of the state and the mediocre platforms of politicians who have privatized the powers. Outside the windows, an entire nation that has lost faith in the politics of fixed ideas, corruption, and smuggling is once again turning its eyes toward them, fully ready to support them in their effort to regain their identity and be reborn. And while the plans of 1990 have remained unrealized, this time the student mission is fully in sync with [passage continues, cut off]. moderators of politics, for the nation, the rule of law, Albanian morality, and trampled dignity. Over these ten years, the historical memory of our people has been filled with confrontations, looting, fratricide, poverty, and corruption. But now the students are coming. Insulted, but not ultimately driven away from politics. Despite the crisis of confidence, they are active and superior to Albania’s cunning politicians, who know very well what they should do with their shadows and the suitcases filled during their periods in government. With the students’ arrival, the departure of the scheming politicians and medieval shadows is a necessity, because on the threshold of December and the dawning century, Albania’s future must be christened with their name alone.
