Mediu: The owners are the pride of the nation

Denial of the right to property must be answered with our mass protests “We love property because we love Albania. We love Albania because we are owners” “Property to the owner” Under this motto, yesterday morning, in Skanderbeg Square, dozens of members and supporters of the Republican Party and the Balli Kombëtar Party, the “Property with Justice” Association, together with associations such as “Property with Justice”, “Gjejlbër”, “Agrarian”, “Bokli”, etc., gathered. The crowd, which included sympathizers and supporters of the protest, the organizers said, despite their composition made it an event without the participation of many protesters. Admitting that it was difficult, the participants declared that the reason was to raise public awareness, to speed up the solution of the owners' issue and to draw the attention of the international factor to the unresolved property problem in Albania. “We will protest in front of those forces [sic] who are owners and not usurpers,” said the chairman of the PR, Fatmir Mediu. He accused the government of trying to take the tribute of the lawful owners, as part of a deliberate policy, leaving them to their fate. “This is not our problem, but the problem of all Albanians. We are asking for a fair and quick solution, because we are convinced that the government's policy will lead the country into chaos,” Mediu declared. “We will not back down and will continue this battle until the property issue is resolved. But until this issue is resolved, we must be able to identify and denounce every injustice against the owners,” said the chairman of the PRSH.
