PAGE 5 EDITORIAL By Agim BAÇI Vlora, the next “political island” The current rulers, lacking even a shred of governing delicacy, declare that the elections of 1 October will be a splendid victory for them. Vlora. The unification of the wealthy class against the poor, the use of gangs and “free forces” to bring about victory for the “politics of force,” is pushing those in power toward a new adventure. Many years. University people and not only them. They have appeared and declared that Vlora must be such a “pass” and has been lost... and with another look or a particular thought, in a time of calm and insecurity. This is the repeated history of the new class enriched by the speed of its creation. These times of rage, disaster and poverty among the people of Vlora have passed through a bad bargain caused by politics. This phenomenon, at first a time of violence and calm, has emerged and become fully tangible. No one should be given any reason to think that the creation of a “political island,” which will be at the center of the entire election campaign, could reignite tension and cause other people. The movement of Vlora must be the opposite. The new left-wing government must be responsible and break away from a division that is taking yet another step backward for its citizens. It must be clear that the elections of 1 October will be held in the climate of its own area.
