EDITORIAL By Neritan ALIBALI The Prime Minister’s cruel joke At the end of yesterday’s discussion, some press outlets that carried out the “vote” for the future Prime Minister on the internet, with votes supposedly recorded “by the Governments of the Balkans,” described Berisha’s candidacy as a “spectacular gesture,” “surprise,” “wonder,” “spectacle,” “unexpected,” “peak,” etc. Since during these hours such jokes are circulating mockingly even in the foreign media, it seems that Prime Minister Rama and his propagandistic deputy understand as much. Nevertheless, the Prime Minister also took care to explain the “joke” himself with special interviews on foreign television stations and newspapers, and to turn into “news” what, after the hostile laughter and also public indignation, he himself—God forbid—called “curiosity.” What did he do? Together with a string of local politicians and analysts, the Prime Minister loudly declared and claimed it was his personal and governmental right to “decree” the main opponent as “clinical death,” to turn him into a “political corpse,” to label him “dead” and to declare him “deceased.” And all this public calamity, the Prime Minister’s political hysteria, followed directly from moral gain. The numbers of the manipulated online vote (but not only that) greatly increased his anxiety, so much that he now sees “shadows” of enemies and journalists everywhere. The endless cup of madness, the ruling majority’s headline-making machine, filled it with the first-ever use in Albanian history of a parliamentary resignation by a person with a mask and reputation. Of the person manipulated as a political “traitor,” this as the prototype of the heartless Taliban who seeks to lay “political passage” on Berisha’s back, creating the false impression that not even “they themselves” believe in the victory of their leader! But how absurd this deceitful move by the Prime Minister becomes when we place it against the undeniable moral fact that it is precisely the socialist majority that must “erase” from parliamentary representation that unusual man who, in the Albanian parliament, rocked with the nerves of Tanzania, serving as a tool for others’ anti-opposition cause, and even “buried himself.” Page 5
