Luigjeta’s story is broadcast live tonight on RAI

Luigjeta was born on 8 July 1982 in Berat and lived with her grandmother. “Gazeta Shqiptare” was the first to write about her story on 1 May, triggering a strong reaction. Yesterday the RAI office in Tirana took an interest in the case and collected testimony from family members. According to the first information, the girl left Berat at the end of April and is suspected to have been transported to the Italian coast. Luigjeta’s relatives say they have received little information and fear she may have been drawn into prostitution networks. The Albanian police have informed their Italian counterparts. The authorities are verifying various testimonies, while the family is asking for her immediate return to Albania.
