Measures demanded against Tirana prosecutors
Yesterday at midday the stormy meeting ended; Qeleshi and Gjokutaj defend their institution against the accusations from the inspection.
TIRANA - An earthquake in the Prosecutor's Office of the capital. Dozens of minutes after midday, the inspectors from the presidential section attached to state control, led by the head of this body, entered the offices of the Prosecutor's Office and blocked, in order to expose numerous serious violations, dozens of prosecutors, among them also 5 deputy heads of the Tirana section. It is learned that this sudden action reached even chief prosecutor Meksi and the cause of this shock was the inspection carried out in the prosecution bodies by order of Colonel Agim Shehu and his group of inspectors. "Lack of control, organization, delays in the deadlines of investigation and punishment, serious violations of criminal procedure" - for these and several other issues stands the strong accusation that led to the inspection of the Tirana District Prosecutor's Office yesterday. According to the information available, at the end of the inspection, the head of this body, Mr. Bujar Hoxha, was asked to take measures against 5 prosecutors and 6 investigators for the responsibilities found.
