But Pashko’s strength is, in practice, the coalition’s most serious loss. Perhaps intended only as a mechanism to curb the will of PAD’s absolute chairman (he is the only one elected with 100 percent of the votes), this will very soon prove only[?] to have the opposite effect: weakening PAD. Not only because Pashko comes from Nano’s cabinet at a time of stormy turmoil. Nano shows, like Berisha and, generally, most Albanians, that he is a master of tactics but a beginner at strategy. It is impossible even for a beginner in analysis to imagine that the Socialists can win the next elections with a total of over 50 percent. Not only are the local elections a test of this, but also, as a matter of timing, a repeat of June 29 will not appear on the horizon for any of the winning sides for a long time. Where will the other allies be found? The PSD, which is the same color as the PS, will be more concerned with its own fate; it will build an electorate at home and abroad. The PBDNJ has a stable electorate. It always sides with the winner, and its percentage is almost always the same. Where will the difference needed to reach the next 15 to 20 percent come from?
