Richard Meares REUTERS If Slobodan Milosheviç survives the war in Kosovo, Yugoslavia may not survive. The conflict has so severely strained relations between Serbia and Montenegro, its junior partner in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, that their union is at risk of falling apart. Montenegro’s pro-Western, pro-democracy president, Milo Gjukanoviç, says his republic can no longer work with an autocratic Serbia under Yugoslav President Milosheviç. “If our views on the future of the country between Serbia and Montenegro remain as different as they are today, a single country will no longer be possible,” he said last week.
