Battle among police officers, three wounded A fight between Sarandë police officers. Three members of the blue-uniformed force were wounded by their colleagues following a dispute over the passage of several smuggling shipments. Special forces arriving from the capital and Vlora have taken control of the situation, while Minister Poçi has also signed the dismissal of the police station chief, who is implicated in the case opened by the prosecutor’s office over this incident. At around 13:30 on Sunday, on the outskirts of Sarandë, two police officers fired at two of their colleagues. One of the officers in blue who escaped the bullets, Altin Alikaj, told Gazeta about the previous day’s conflict: “At around 1:00 on Sunday, we had been alerted that contraband cigarettes would be brought in, so we set off towards the coast. On the way, we encountered a Sarandë jeep, which had replaced its license plate with a Tirana plate.” On page 7
