The Assembly approves the return of the disarmed police. In order to give this force the necessary time to resume its duties, it has been decided to extend by another two years the deadline for the voluntary surrender of weapons by the population. Meanwhile, the Assembly is expected soon to approve the tightening of the maximum penalty for unlawful possession of weapons in the existing Criminal Code.
