The other day I read in “Le Canard en chainé,” a French newspaper known for its biting humor, a piece of news that, although it initially made me laugh, soon afterward made me delve deeply into some dangerous thoughts. It was about Shaoshan, the birthplace of Mao Ce Dun. With the successful restoration of capitalism in the People’s Republic of China, they have apparently opened up there too.
