The Prosecution has added a charge of looting private shops against the 12 people accused in the first group for the September 14 uprising. According to the prosecution’s calculation, they are liable for the theft of goods worth 10 million dollars. The new charge was brought during yesterday’s court hearing by the prosecutor in the case, Nasip Naçe. “When they failed to bring down the state, they began to steal and loot,” Naçe declared while presenting the new charge. Based on the official records held by the Prosecution and signed by the owners themselves, it appears that all the shops were robbed by participants in the events of September 13 and 14. According to the prosecutor, the approximate damage amounts to around 10 million dollars. First on the list of those who suffered losses, and the person for whose loss the defendants in the September 14 case are accused, is “Pacifiku.” Located just a few meters from the center of Tirana, it is the worst-affected private business, while the Prime Minister’s Office...
