On November 4, 1990, 20 years ago, in the Rrmaj cemetery in Shkodër, a mass is held, with around 200 to 300 believers, to remember the souls of the dead. The mass is led by Dom Simon Jubani, a priest who was ordained in 1958. If on November 4 the mass was small, on November 11 the mass held in this cemetery would echo all the way into the foreign press, where agencies such as AFP or “Associated Press” would report that in Albania, for the first time after 23 years, a mass was officially held. “But who celebrates November 4... the state does not recognize it.
