We don’t know where the money is “It is not written in the television’s statute that it must be the voice of the state” By FATMIRA NIKOLLI Once the only entertainment for Albanians, today Albanian Public Television seems to have lost its former brilliance. According to Alfred Bualoti, a director who worked there for many years, this station has become “unwatchable”. A few days ago, the doubling of the fee for this public television was announced, from 600 new lek to 1,200. The latter will be collected together with the electricity bills. For Bualoti, any tax whose destination is unknown is “unacceptable”. Although the television needs money, which is well known, the director says that it is not the money that this institution has lacked, as it can by no means compete with private television stations in Albania.
