The 30 percent quota for presenting candidate lists with women is violated. The Democratic Party, in its list of candidates for municipalities and communes, has only 1% female candidates. The majority’s promise to increase the number of women in leadership positions in municipalities and communes appears to have been merely declarative. This is because out of 384 local units, only four PD candidates are women. Two candidates are in the communes of Fratar and Fermë Çlirim, while the other is in the Municipality of Memaliaj.....

Yesterday, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, in a rented area on the outskirts of Tirana, set up a camp for Roma families displaced from the Train Station. The tents were installed in the Babrru area, near Rrema’s river. But once again the Roma families did not agree to go into the tents that had been erected, arguing that they are too far away; many of them live in miserable conditions....
