INTERVIEW / THE PRESIDENT: THE HEAD OF STATE SHOULD BE ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE Topi: On 21 January things got out of control “Edi Rama regretted the constitutional changes. Serious attacks also against Ina Rama. Great praise was lavished on many personalities, then they were declared traitors” The President of the Republic, Bamir Topi, does not exclude the possibility of running again for this post next year, but he remains committed to the idea of electing the head of state by popular vote. In an interview for “Top Story”, Mr. Topi analyzed the latest political situation in the country, while recalling the warning he made 3 years ago, that the constitutional changes would only tense the political situation in the country. Topi speaks about relations with Sali Berisha and Edi Rama, accusing the prime minister of losing control during 21 January. Mr. President, this October is expected to be formalized by Brussels...
