Electronic vote counting fails By DARINA TANUSHI 210 members of the new Socialist Assembly elected yesterday the new leadership and secretariat of the party. Among around 30 candidacies, of which 10 were women and 20 men, the members of the Assembly reconfirmed Gramoz Ruçi, not only as chairman of the highest forum after the party Congress, but they also gave him the highest number of votes. Ruçi received 190 votes as chairman of the National Assembly, in an uncontested race, while he received 177 votes as a member of the leadership. Sources from the PS said that socialist leader Rama had proposed that the vote for the head of the Assembly be open, but such a thing was not accepted by Ruçi. On the list of candidates proposed by Rama at the beginning of the National Assembly meeting, the absence of Kastriot Islami and Andis Harasani was noted, as expected, following the worsened relations after the 2009 elections.
