In an interview given yesterday to “Gazeta Shqiptare”, the former head of the Constitutional Court, Fehmi Abdiu, categorically denies that the decision to overturn the maritime pact with Greece was made under pressure or as a result of bribes from the Turkish government. According to him, the statements made on the “SKAI” television channel by Greece’s former foreign minister Dora Bakojanis and journalist Stavros Lygeros are vile lies. Mr. Abdiu, were there any “pressures” directed at you or “advice” given, both to you personally and to the 8 other members of the Constitutional Court, during 2009-2010, by domestic or foreign senior officials, regarding the decision you were to make on the maritime pact with Greece? I am fully convinced that the overturning of that pact was one of the best, most responsible and most qualified decisions of the Constitutional Court....
