Particularly alarming is the phenomenon of trafficking in minors, who are forced to carry out exhausting begging and theft activities or are destined for the fragile illegal market or for pedopornography. I was left terribly shocked when, during a conversation held within the framework of an investigation into the treatment of minors of Romani origin, sold or rented out for exploitation by their own parents to certain heartless people, I heard one of them say he wanted to return to the parent a child who had just turned fourteen, in exchange for his younger brother, so that he could exploit him as much as possible, without having problems with justice, since the younger one was not covered by the law. Whoever exploits a child extinguishes the light of life.
