The High Inspectorate for the Declaration and Audit of Assets suspects that high-ranking state officials have hidden their wealth outside Albania. For this reason, the institution has launched investigations, mainly in countries of the region. But the investigation also includes the state of Cyprus, also known as a “tax haven.” The news was confirmed yesterday to the media by the head of the HIDAACI, Adriatik Llalla. “The Inspectorate is investigating several cases of officials who are under scrutiny for suspected assets abroad. We are awaiting the information we have on these cases. We are investigating several cases, mainly in the countries of the region, in Europe, but mostly in countries around Albania. Cyprus is also included in the investigation,” Llalla said.
