Doshi and Prifti are absent With 75 votes in favor and 54 abstentions, Parliament yesterday approved the President of the Republic’s decree appointing Adriatik Llalla to the post of Prosecutor General. Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli did not take part in the vote. Parliament’s press office clarified yesterday officially to the media that “Ms. Topalli’s non-vote is entirely deliberate and a personal choice of hers.” The vote in favor of the new chief prosecutor was meanwhile cast by FRD deputy Gazmend Oketa, the head of PBDNJ, Vangjel Dule, and the deputy expelled from the PS parliamentary group, Kastriot Islami, who had already publicly declared their support for Adriatik Llalla. The opposition, as it had announced, chose to abstain as a bloc. Meanwhile, PS deputy Tom Doshi and independent Dritan Prifti, although they had declared they would vote for Llalla, were not present in Parliament at the moment of voting.....
