The High Inspectorate for the Declaration and Audit of Assets suspects that senior state officials have hidden their wealth outside Albania. For this reason, the institution has launched investigations, mainly in countries of the region. But the investigations also include the state of Cyprus, also known as a “tax haven.” The news was confirmed yesterday to the media by the head of the HIDAA, Adriatik Llalla. “The Inspectorate is investigating several cases of officials who are under scrutiny for suspected assets abroad. We are awaiting the information we have on these cases. We are investigating several cases, mainly in the states of the region, in Europe, but mainly in countries of the region. Cyprus is also included in the investigations,” Llalla said. His statement came immediately after an open discussion held yesterday with students from the Faculty of Law on the theme “Students, active in the fight against corruption,” held with the support of the OSCE as part of the International Anti-Corruption Day.....
