Increasingly, new facts are coming to light showing that the Greek government had clear intentions in the division of the maritime borders with Albania, in order to benefit as much as possible at the expense of the Republic of Albania. Referring to the documents and maps of the Greek Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, it is proven that part of the much-discussed territory, which on the basis of the agreement signed between the Greek and Albanian governments, was an oil deposit. The Greek side knew this as early as 1984, when studies were carried out throughout the western coastline of Greece and in the area around the island of Corfu. Also, within the same territory, studies conducted by the Greek side identified the suitable place for drilling the oil well.
