The Supreme Court needed only three minutes to read the verdict for the former deputy prime minister Ilir Meta, granting him acquittal. The Penal College chaired by Ardian Dvorani, although it had ten days available to reach a decision on the former number two of the Albanian government, revealed after two days the fact that Ilir Meta was declared innocent, with the argument that “the fact is not proven to exist”, but it did not make public the full arguments on which the members of the Penal College based such a verdict. Even yesterday’s hearing, the judicial panel was delayed by more than two hours from the time set to announce the decision regarding the defendant Ilir Meta.
