Prime Minister Sali Berisha began today meetings with allies for the election of the new President of the Republic. The first meeting will be today at midday with the head of the LSI, Ilir Meta, in the premises of the Presidency of the Assembly. The Presidency of the Democratic Party mandated its leader last night as head of negotiations with the other parties, while in this group there are also the other two members of the presidency, Astrit Patozi and Edmond Spaho. These are at least the three positions taken by the PD presidency on the day the legal procedures for electing the new head of state began. During last night’s presidency meeting, Democratic leader Sali Berisha made clear that the opposition will not be excluded from the negotiations, stating that he will accept a non-political candidate from the Socialist Party. “There will be fair negotiations, including the opposition as well. These negotiations are a proof and a political duty to the citizens. This majority has all the possibilities to do it...
