The maritime agreement between Albania and Greece will be unblocked when Antonis Samaras becomes prime minister.” This is how the Greek media report it, referring to the meeting held a few days earlier between Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha and the leader of “Nea Demokratia,” Antonis Samaras, a meeting that took place during the proceedings of the Congress of the European People’s Parties held in Marseille. According to the Greek site antinews.gr, it is learned that among the topics discussed between Berisha and Samaras were also the rights of the minority in Albania as well as the removal of the term “nationality” from Civil Registry records. Contacted by “Gazeta Shqiptare,” Prime Minister Berisha’s spokeswoman, Erla Mëhilli, confirmed the meeting but did not provide details regarding the discussion topics.
