A verbal clash took place in the closed-door meeting between the party chairman, Edi Rama, and deputy Ilir Gjoni. Sources within the main Socialist forum told “GSH” that deputy Gjoni expressed dissatisfaction with the way the party leadership is trying to dictate to the party base. The change of an organizational chair in Unit No. 3 in the capital triggered the reaction of deputy Ilir Gjoni. In his speech, he asked Rama and the party secretariat to trust the party base more and to delegate power vertically. According to Gjoni, especially those in Unit No. 3 should decide whom they want as organizational chair, and this should not be decided by the chairman.
