This will be a major issue to be discussed in the Tirana Municipal Council. Item seven on the agenda of the Municipal Council meeting is the renaming of the square connecting the streets “Hoxha Tahsim” and “Luigj Gurakuqi” to “Çamëria”. Many know this square as square “Avni Rustemi”, because for 40 years the bust of the praised hero Avni Rustemi has stood there. Then Toptani. The proposal for this name has been made by the head of the councilors’ group of the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity (PDIU), Tahir Muhedini. Asked by “Gazeta Shqiptare”, Tahir Muhedini stated that he had proposed naming this square “Çamëria”, but he did not explain the reasons why this square was chosen. “Yes, I know that square is called ‘Avni Rustemi’...” Continues on page 4
