The government has planned that during 2013 it will use from the state budget 1.8 billion lek, approximately 18 million dollars, for cash compensation to former owners. The figure was proposed by the Council of Ministers in the draft budget for 2013, which last week was approved at a government meeting and will then be discussed in the parliamentary committees before the final vote in Parliament. Meanwhile, just a few days ago the government also announced that it has doubled the fund to be used for compensating owners for this year, from 1.5 billion lek to 3 billion lek (approximately around 30 million dollars). The doubling of the fund for this year came together with the decision that defines the procedures through which compensation will be made as well as the financial amounts that owners will receive.
