This will be a major issue to be discussed in the Tirana Municipal Council. Item seven on the agenda of the Municipal Council meeting concerns renaming the square that connects “Hoxha Tahsin” and “Luigj Gurakuqi” streets to “Çamëria”. Many know this square as “Avni Rustemi” Square, because for 40 years the bust of the national hero Avni Rustemi has stood there. The proposal for this naming was made by the chairman of the councilors’ group of the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity (PDIU), Tahir Muhedini. When asked by “Gazeta Shqiptare”, Tahir Muhedini stated that he had proposed naming this square “Çamëria”, but did not explain the reasons why this square was chosen. “Yes, I know that square is called ‘Avni Rustemi’...” Continued on page 4
