The new leadership of the SP began work yesterday with several sensational decisions. Yesterday’s meeting was not just a constitutive one, but also one of new changes in the party. Thus Pandeli Majko, former prime minister, one of the well-known and veteran figures in the SP, currently a deputy, is a candidate for a very important post at the United Nations. Meanwhile, the Durrës deputy, Rudina Seseri, has resigned from her parliamentary mandate because of her commitments in the USA. Pandeli Majko’s name has been proposed for the post of assistant secretary-general for Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union and the Caucasus. So far, this news has been kept highly confidential, as SP leader Edi Rama himself explained at yesterday’s leadership meeting, since such a thing was requested by the international community.
