Interview, Kreshnik Spahiu speaks: I am a citizen, I will take the matter to court By TEDI BLUSHI The Legal Affairs Committee yesterday examined the request of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party to investigate the vice-chairman of the High Council of Justice, Kreshnik Spahiu, with the aim of dismissing him from this post. The request was approved only with the votes of the majority, after opposition MPs left the meeting. The vice-chairman of the KLD appeared before the committee, where the report of PD MP Viktor Gumi was first heard; he presented the majority’s request calling for Spahiu’s dismissal. The Democrats’ request argues that “the vice-chairman of the KLD has deviated from his constitutional function and replaced it with political activity incompatible with the duty, failing to represent interests in the justice function in the Parliament of Albania, the body from which he was elected.” But from the very start of the meeting the session was accompanied...
