OSCE Ambassador Volfart: Names on hold, serious personalities By VALENTINA MADANI The right-wing majority has decided to vote on Bamir Topi’s decree appointing a new member of the High Court. This concerns Artan Zeneli, who is currently a member of the Tirana Court and whom the PD rejected four years ago because, according to it, he did not meet the criteria and President Topi had not consulted parliament in selecting the candidate. But despite the objections, and even accusations from some MPs that judge Zeneli had taken bribes, the PD will now put behind it all the objections it raised in 2008 to the president’s candidate. Sources within the PD parliamentary group told “Gazeta Shqiptare” that this time Artan Zeneli’s name will be voted on for membership of the High Court. For this, parliament has also begun the procedures for his election. The Conference of Chairs approved the majority’s proposal two days ago.... Continues on page 5
