The allocation of National Assembly members as delegates to the districts sparked heated debates between the leader of the PS and two of these members. Immediately after the names of the members, divided by district, were read out by the organizational secretary, Blendi Klosi, strong reactions came from the mayor of Vlorë, Shpëtim Gjika. He expressed his dissatisfaction, as well as that of the local leaders of Vlorë, over the delegations made by the leadership. According to sources within the meeting, Gjika is said to have stated that out of 9 people delegated, 5 of them were assigned to Vlorë, even though they live in Tirana and now have no connection with Vlorë’s party life. The sources said that among those delegated from Tirana to this district were Theodhori Solaku, Mezan Malaj and Besnik Dervishi, among others.
