By VALENTINA MADANI Prime Minister Sali Berisha begins today meetings with allies for the election of the new President of the Republic. The first meeting will be today at midday with the leader of the LSI, Ilir Meta, in the premises of the Presidency of the Assembly. Last night, the Presidency of the Democratic Party mandated its leader as head of the negotiations with the other parties, while this group also includes the two other members of the presidency, Astrit Patozi and Edmond Spaho. These are the three decisions taken by the PD presidency on the day the legal procedures for electing the new head of state began. During last night’s presidency meeting, Democratic leader Sali Berisha made it clear that the opposition will not be excluded from the negotiations, stating that he will accept a non-political candidate from the Socialist Party. “There will be fair negotiations, including the opposition.
